Under direct supervision, this role involves performing a range of clerical support tasks within the Claims Department.

Key Responsibilities:


Utilizes various automated systems to match unidentified correspondence with the appropriate file or claim number, ensuring accuracy in mail processing.

Prepares diverse materials including letters, benefit notifications, and memorandums for medical appointments, legal representatives, or external clients.

Operates control functions for multiple Service Center or Claim Office data systems.

Retrieves and re-files documents from the central storage facility while maintaining precise records of file activities.

Receives deliveries from dock and messenger services, verifying the accuracy of the received materials.

Prepares outgoing mail for dispatch, ensuring all necessary attachments are included and securely packaged. This may involve the shipping and receiving of computer equipment.


Handles various clerical tasks such as answering phone calls, taking messages, managing faxes, processing payments, organizing files, and performing data entry.

Assists in updating jurisdictional notices and manuals utilized within the office.

Pulls files from storage for internal state audits.

Prepares electronic files for state audits, including payment histories, file notes, and medical reports.

Contacts agents and insured individuals regarding routine claims to gather coverage information or retrieves it through various systems.


Issues payments, requests wage information for adjusters, orders surveillance, and conducts medical calls to ascertain current work status.

Schedules medical appointments and sends all relevant correspondence related to those appointments.

Performs additional related tasks as required or requested.

Adheres to the Crawford Code of Conduct.

Qualifications:
Demonstrates foundational knowledge of computer operations and claim file systems and procedures.

Preferred but not mandatory: 2 years of administrative experience.

High school diploma or GED; or equivalent experience in a related field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Must be adaptable, flexible, and possess excellent multitasking abilities.

Technically skilled with strong oral and written communication capabilities.
