The Auto Claims Manager will play a critical role in leading our auto claims management efforts and risk mitigation initiatives. This position requires a strong understanding of claims management, risk mitigation, and strategic guidance.
Responsibilities:- Lead auto claims management efforts and risk mitigation initiatives
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to our internal risk management claims team
- Manage critical third-party representatives (Carrier/TPA, broker, legal counsel, etc.) in conjunction with the Transportation and Legal departments
- Develop and implement claims processes to effectively achieve shared and clearly established objectives
- Provide technical claims expertise and support to business units
- Oversee the lifecycle of all claims to ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained
- Ensure cost containment solutions are identified and deployed
- Coordinate the exchange of information, including written documentation, in connection with the legal defense of Auto matters
- Establish key departmental metrics and create KPIs
- Assist with insurance renewals, including data collection, underwriting meetings, and broker engagement
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Management, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of related experience, including claims processing and resolving issues and adjustments required
- Well-versed in claims management with a specific focus on Auto Liability
- Experience with claims processing, researching, and resolving issues and adjustments
- Experience and strong knowledge of co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, coordination of benefits, and secondary insurance and stop loss
- Experience working in claims management in large Transportation departments
