Ensign-Bickford Industries, (EBI) is a leading provider of mission-critical hardware and systems solutions, including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team in Graham, Kentucky.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business objectives, leveraging expertise and experience to manage end-to-end supply chain management.
  • Assess supplier risk, create competitive Request for Proposals, conduct supplier selection and development, negotiate with suppliers, and manage procurement scheduling.
  • Purchase a wide range of components, including contracted services, raw materials, machined components, explosive materials, and assigned material requests in support of EBI Graham, Kentucky Operations.
  • Recommend inventory fulfillment approaches, such as Kanban and strategic inventory planning, forecasting, and configuration management using IFS Enterprise planning system.
  • Work with Proposal Engineers and Development Engineering as procurement lead on new product business proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to purchasing, storage, and transportation of materials, adhering to EBI Quality Management Systems.
  • Create procurement cost/price justifications consistent with requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARs).
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, working with suppliers and internal customers to facilitate improvements in quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or Business, with 3-5 years of tactical purchasing and 6-10 years of strategic procurement and people management experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Experience in low volume, development scale procurement (R&D) and low/medium volume production procurement, with understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices, and basic operation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • APICS certification in CPM/CPIM preferred, with knowledge of FAR/DFARS and related government procurement documentation requirements.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic work environment with high growth, taking initiative, being innovative, and goal-oriented, with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, Teamwork, and core values.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (up to 30% as required).
