Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rehabilitation Therapy Manager to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day operations of our rehabilitation therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, administer, and monitor the rehabilitation therapy capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets to ensure compliance with fiscal constraints and established standards and regulations.
  • Prepare operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies, as required.
  • Manage the administration of the program and supervise the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Regularly meet with and communicate operational changes to staff to ensure they are aware of information that may affect their work.
  • Seek input and recommendations from staff on ways to improve operations.
  • Participate in developing departmental goals and objectives.
  • Analyze departmental strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and constraints.
  • Supervise staff and manage employee performance.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, address problems, orient and train employees, verify and document competency, and identify and suggest ways to develop skills.
  • Project staffing needs, interview and hire employees, monitor workflow, identify, recommend, implement, and evaluate the provision of new procedures or services.
  • Establish, revise, administer, and communicate policies, procedures, and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Communicate and monitor compliance with regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee and coordinate quality assurance activities; establish quality measures and standards, monitor departmental performance in relation to established standards, and take corrective action to prevent or reduce problems or errors to improve procedures.
  • Determine the impact of changes on departmental/section services or programs.
  • Provide and coordinate the resources needed within the department to provide optimal outcomes.
  • Demonstrate advanced practitioner knowledge and skills in their discipline by providing limited patient care services.
  • Work with manager to formulate plan for professional development.
  • Attend educational in-services as appropriate.
  • Participate in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
  • Establish and meet goals related to elevating the level of clinical practice, staff development, and education.
  • Maintain program records pertaining to operations and procedures to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Prepare operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies, as required.
  • Interact with and establish collegial relationships with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Serve as a resource of advanced clinical knowledge in a particular specialty.
  • Coordinate the orientation program for new staff.
  • Coordinate the competency training for the department.
  • Promote continuing education for staff and provide opportunities for professional development.
  • Serve as a resource to medical staff, students, other allied health professionals, and support staff concerning the operations of Rehab Therapy.
  • Assist in interpreting the applicable policies.
  • Evaluate staff educational needs based on clinical populations and situations.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited program for physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology.
  • Five years of clinical experience, including three in a management/supervisory role.
  • Current licensure as a Speech Pathologist, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist in the State of Georgia.
