**Job Title:** Class I Custodian at Excelsior Elementary for second shift

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Class I Custodian at Excelsior Elementary. This is a full-time, second shift position that requires working from 2:30-11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

**Salary:** Estimated salary for this position is approximately $42,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

**Job Description:**

This is a varied role that involves performing routine and project cleaning tasks throughout the school. Some of your responsibilities may include:

  • Emptying waste receptacles, vacuuming and/or sweeping floors, emptying sharpeners, cleaning and disinfecting sinks and fountains, straightening and cleaning furniture, refinishing hard surface floors, carpet extraction, and marker and chalkboard cleaning.
  • Coordinating with the Facilities Manager to schedule and direct custodial staff for project cleaning and building use.
  • Interacting with building occupants to ensure doors are open, equipment is available, and their needs are met.
  • Performing minor maintenance duties such as cleaning and lubricating univents, changing filters, changing light bulbs and ballasts, adjusting equipment and furniture, and small painting projects.
  • Securing the facility by closing and locking windows, locking doors, ensuring security lights are operating, and activating the security alarm.
  • Performing exterior maintenance including lawn mowing, trimming, cleaning exterior windows and walls, and ensuring all sidewalks and stairs are free of ice and snow.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to organize and maintain records.
  • Demonstrated accurate mathematical skills.
  • Customer service oriented with positive interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively complete a pre-placement physical capabilities examination at Concentra at the District's expense.
