Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Specialist to join our team at Recreational Equipment Inc. in Tualatin. As a Retail Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and driving sales growth in our retail store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support customers by responding to product, membership, and service inquiries, and resolving customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effectively maintain and stock work areas, ensuring all items are accurately priced and visually appealing.
  • Collaborate with store management and visual merchandising teams to maintain visual standards and promote sales growth.
  • Process purchase, membership, service, and return transactions at the register, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Perform unique transactions, such as special orders, Outdoor School registration, and store mail-outs.
  • Identify, research, and resolve customer issues, providing solutions that meet their needs.
  • Support Retail Store Pick-Up by assisting with the receipt of product from truck and processing customer pick-up.
  • Maintain customer and employee hold areas, ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Previous retail store experience preferred.
  • Actively participate and collaborate with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.
  • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions to support the direction taken by others at REI.
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with all kinds of people inside and outside the organization.
  • Knowledgeable of outdoor activities in assigned department.
  • Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
