Job Title: Quality Control Manager

Actalent is seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee and enforce project site quality control for a flight simulator project at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for assessing and controlling risk, performing tests and analyzing results, planning, developing, and directing the application of processes to maintain quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management and a minimum of 5 years of Construction Management experience specific to Corps of Engineers' projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee construction projects from start to finish with a focus on quality control
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish standards of care
  • Verify and document materials received for the project
  • Conduct required meetings with USACE, superintendent, foreman, and subcontractor
  • Review plans, specifications, construction cost data, and other contract documents
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications
  • Perform specified or required tests to verify control measures
  • Oversee work of subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and maintain project 'as-built' drawings
  • Develop, update, and maintain project submittal log and other quality control reporting
  • Provide written daily QC reports
  • Schedule and document inspections required to conform to project contract requirements
  • Verify necessary inspections, approvals, and certifications by appropriate agencies
  • Assemble and forward project closeout documents
  • Use discretion to stop work if necessary to resolve safety, quality, or progress issues
  • Advise on changes to methods and materials for use in projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
  • Minimum of 5 years of Construction Management experience specific to Corps of Engineers' projects
  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective quality control systems in compliance with contract requirements on USACE and other federal projects
  • Experience using Army RMS/QCS system
  • Strong knowledge of construction, building and construction materials, methods, terminology, phases, documentation, and the tools involved in the construction, repair or remodeling of structures and sites
  • Good understanding of administrative and management principles involved in project planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people and resources
  • Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry
  • Ability to utilize current programs, as well as the ability to create and administer new QC programs
  • Ability to manage time efficiently
  • Must possess ability to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Current credentials showing the completion of the course 'Construction Quality Management for Contractors' offered by USACE
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health training within the last 5 years
