We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our Inpatient Laboratory team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, while providing exceptional patient care and service.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all aspects of pre-analytic workflow, including specimen collection, processing, and verification.
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, and other equipment.
- Perform analytical testing, including blood chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
- Maintain test system integrity, including preventative maintenance, quality control, and quality assurance.
- Store and retrieve specimens, and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and other laboratory staff.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Allied Health.
- General MLS or MT(ASCP) certification or eligible.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
