Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our Inpatient Laboratory team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, while providing exceptional patient care and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects of pre-analytic workflow, including specimen collection, processing, and verification.
  • Operate laboratory instruments and equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, and other equipment.
  • Perform analytical testing, including blood chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
  • Maintain test system integrity, including preventative maintenance, quality control, and quality assurance.
  • Store and retrieve specimens, and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and other laboratory staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Allied Health.
  • General MLS or MT(ASCP) certification or eligible.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
