Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Woodstock. This part-time position will provide support to our clinic with prior authorizations and serve as a backup Medical Assistant for the floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with prior authorizations and provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician or licensed nurse.
  • Prepare patients for office procedures, administer injections and medications as directed, and perform point of care testing.
  • Relay normal test results to patients, consult with RNs or physicians as needed, and maintain infection control standards.
  • Participate in shared governance, committee work, and practice/department projects, and demonstrate a willingness to support co-workers and mentor new staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, customers, and clinical staff, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Two or more years of recent experience working as a Medical Assistant in a physician office setting or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
  • American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • Completion of phlebotomy class or equivalent experience, basic computer knowledge, and ability to type proficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and assess situations requiring an interpreter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Medical Assisting.
  • Second language proficiency a plus.
