Role Summary

Role: Vehicle Engineering Documentation Specialist

Location: Fremont, CA

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Documentation Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and managing engineering processes, release packages, and specifications within the vehicle industry.

This role requires a deep understanding of engineering documentation tools, including PNs, BOMs, Specifications, and Vehicle definitions, as well as procedures for vehicle systems. The candidate should be skilled in design engineering principles and experienced in documenting CAD designs through comprehensive release packages.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and define the complete Vehicle Engineering release package for Pebble vehicles.
  2. Verify engineering release packages for compliance with established procedures and processes.
  3. Establish a consistent documentation system, starting from specific PNs and BOMs, through to the creation and release of engineering specifications, and organizing vehicle systems into functional modules.
  4. Manage and develop the engineering change process using ECR and ECN forms.
  5. Integrate Pebble's engineering documentation into a cohesive system that ensures smooth collaboration with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
  6. Collaborate with the Pebble team to implement the PLM system.
  7. Interface with other teams to create a unified and efficient documentation system for Pebble products.
  8. Lead document creation, process reviews, workshops, and training sessions for engineering and other groups.
  9. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and contract manufacturers, to ensure alignment on documentation goals and deliverables.
Qualifications:
  1. 5+ years of experience in documenting engineering and manufacturing processes in the automotive, truck, bus, or RV industries, with a proven track record of successful product development.
  2. Proficiency with specific systems or software (i.e.: CAD, PLM, Enovia, Smart Team, Confluence, Team Center, etc.).
  3. Strong knowledge of dependencies and requirements for engineering documentation, BOM's, specifications, PN systems, smart PM's, vehicle modules/systems.
  4. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and present technical information to various audiences.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
  7. Self-starter with a versatile, hands-on approach.
  8. Familiarity with vehicle/automotive safety and regulatory requirements is a plus.
  9. Experience with RVs is a bonus.
