Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Forensics Analyst to join our dynamic security team at Q2 Software, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for detecting and analyzing potential threats at the early stages of an attack, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and customer data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively monitor security events and alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities during the initial stages of an attack or compromise.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations into suspicious activities, anomalies, and security incidents to determine the nature and scope of the threat.
  • Utilize digital forensics tools and techniques to gather, analyze, and preserve evidence related to security incidents.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all forensic analysis, including findings, methodologies, and evidence, ensuring its admissibility in legal proceedings if necessary.
  • Analyze and dissect malware samples to understand their functionality, propagation methods, and potential impact on the organization.
  • Stay informed about emerging threats, attack vectors, and vulnerabilities and integrate threat intelligence into forensic analysis processes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including SOC analysts, incident responders, and legal teams, to ensure a coordinated response to security incidents.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to security controls, processes, and procedures based on forensic analysis findings.

Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Cyber Security Forensics Analyst, with a focus on early threat detection.
  • Strong knowledge of digital forensics tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting security logs, events, and incidents.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CFCE, GCFA, or equivalent are a plus.
