Job Summary

The Machine Shop Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the general machine shop operations at Draper. This individual will work closely with the Machine Shop Supervisor to process incoming work requests, procure necessary materials, track job status, and ensure the smooth execution of work from receipt to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process incoming work requests and communicate effectively with teammates and internal/external customers
  • Work with buyers/planners to order stock materials, hardware, tooling, and other necessary items
  • Collaborate with the calibration lab to ensure shop equipment is up-to-date in the calibration system
  • Track chemicals, limited life materials, tools, and other consumables to maintain supply on hand
  • Communicate with engineering on shop processes, required information, lead times, and status updates
  • Assist in developing and growing general shop operating procedures as Draper transitions towards AS9100 certification and consistent production pedigree work
  • Coordinate with internal and external vendors for post-processing applications such as heat treat, chromate, anodize, and more
  • Maintain and develop job scheduling and capacity planning tools
  • Assist with coordinating facilities updates, machine repairs, and new equipment purchases
Requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication with facility users and engineering teams
  • Experience with lab/facility operations management
  • Familiarity with MRP Security
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Operations or Business preferred. 5+ years of experience in a lab or facility operations management role.

Additional Information
