Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Job Description

This position requires rotational OCONUS deployments. The selected candidate will work directly with the Shift Lead to manage, control, and direct resources to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance utilizing applicable Air Force directives/instructions on MQ-1 and MQ-9 aircraft and associated equipment.

The candidate will direct and assist in the inspection, troubleshooting, and operations of deployed communications equipment to include Predator Primary Satellite Link Terminal, Ground Control Stations, and Ground Data Terminals, standard 6 radio frequencies, and line-of-sight, beyond line-of-sight, wideband, ground-based satellite, peripheral computer/communications and cryptographic equipment.

The selected candidate will schedule satellite communications airtime and coordinate link activation with Department of Defense and civilian agencies. They will assemble, connect, secure, and interconnect components such as transmitters, power supplies, and antenna assemblies. The candidate will monitor and de-conflict transmit/receive signals to ensure optimum performance and prevent interference with other satellite users.

The selected candidate will implement disaster control duties and responsibilities pertaining to aircraft/SE movement and personnel evacuation. They will follow established CANN procedures and update CANN action status on assigned aircraft. The candidate will understand aircraft status and inventory reporting as covered in Air Force Instruction and applicable supplements. They will inform and provide aircraft status updates to Shift Lead and the Maintenance Operations Control Center.

The selected candidate will verify MICAP conditions exist and review MICAP's status daily for accuracy. They will ensure strict compliance and adherence with environmental directives and applicable environmental protection/compliance guidance. The candidate will ensure compliance with applicable government safety directives, standards, and industrial safety publications. Lastly, they will encourage a work environment of zero accident and injuries including no lost time accidents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and control resources to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance
  • Direct and assist in the inspection, troubleshooting, and operations of deployed communications equipment
  • Schedule satellite communications airtime and coordinate link activation
  • Implement disaster control duties and responsibilities pertaining to aircraft/SE movement and personnel evacuation
  • Follow established CANN procedures and update CANN action status on assigned aircraft
  • Verify MICAP conditions exist and review MICAP's status daily for accuracy

Requirements:
  • At least four (4) years experience in aircraft maintenance
  • Successful completion of CONUS Recovery Center (CRC) to deploy
  • Valid US Passport
