About the Role

AECOM's Water Business Line is seeking a talented Pipeline Design Engineer to join our team in New England. As a key member of our pipeline design practice, you will provide support to projects throughout the United States, working directly with one of our globally recognized pipeline design experts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with pipeline design experts to develop and review design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct field inspections and condition assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations.
  • Work on projects related to pipeline failure analysis and pipeline forensics analysis.
  • Provide technical guidance to AECOM project teams.
  • Technical writing, reviewing, and providing clear, concise input to investigations, memorandums, or solutions reports.
  • Stay current on industry trends and advancements in pipeline design and engineering.
Requirements
  • BS in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering, and 4 years of related experience.
  • 4 years of project experience in design of municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater pipeline design, analysis, installation, and inspection.
  • Previous experience in Mathcad / MATLAB and FEA.
  • Valid Driver's License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed PE or ability to obtain PE when eligible.
  • Previous experience working with pipeline design codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
  • Understanding of construction methods, such as open-cut and trenchless (micro tunneling, jack and bore, etc.) for sewer and water infrastructure.
  • Understanding of water and storm and sanitary sewer rehabilitation.
  • Past experience with pipeline condition assessment and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work in diverse teams.
