Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Aid Administrator to join our team at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering loan programs, providing exceptional customer service to students and parents, and assisting with the administration of the financial aid program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain cooperative relationships with parents, students, and other university offices.
  • Administer and maintain various state loan programs, including POSSE, HEOP, and NYS TAP.
  • Provide individual assistance and counseling to students, including annual forms workshops and individual appointments.
  • Stay current with knowledge and use of institutional software, including PowerFAIDS, ELM, and EDconnect.
  • Review and administer office-wide communications and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of office philosophies, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining office records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of direct experience in financial aid preferred.
  • Experience with computer systems, preferably PowerFAIDS, ELM, and EDconnect.
  • Detail-oriented individual with ability to interpret and understand policy.
  • Strong sense of initiative and willingness to learn and adapt to change.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven environment.
