Job Overview:
The University of Florida's Emergency & Critical Care service is seeking qualified candidates for a faculty role in Emergency & Critical Care. Join our dedicated team of 16 faculty members, including 8 criticalists and 8 full-time ER veterinarians, supported by a robust resident team and exceptional nursing staff, several of whom are VTS-ECC certified.
The successful candidate will integrate into our established team of ECC clinicians, working within a collaborative and innovative environment primarily located in our VECCS Level 1 and AAHA accredited facility.
Our ECC service is known for its busy extracorporeal therapy offerings, which include intermittent hemodialysis, CRRT, therapeutic plasma exchange, and hemoperfusion. This position provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your skill set in these advanced techniques. With a minimum of two criticalists on duty daily, there is ample opportunity for collaboration and idea exchange.
Your responsibilities will encompass primary patient care, alongside the instruction and oversight of DVM students, interns, and residents. We prioritize student education and offer three distinct clinical rotations for DVM students, focusing on Emergency Medicine and Critical Care.
Applicants are encouraged to establish a program of scholarly activity, with the distribution of clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities being negotiable based on the applicant's qualifications.
This is a non-tenure accruing position. Candidates must possess a DVM (or equivalent) degree and have completed an accredited residency in Emergency and Critical Care.
