Job Summary

As a Correctional Officer with the Justice, Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities. You will be responsible for supervising and monitoring inmates, enforcing rules and regulations, and providing support to other correctional staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor inmates to ensure their safety and security
  • Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline
  • Provide support to other correctional staff, including training and guidance
  • Participate in emergency response situations, such as riots or escapes
  • Conduct regular inspections of cells and living areas to ensure cleanliness and safety
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to pass a background check and physical fitness test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with inmates and staff
Working Conditions

Correctional Officers work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires attention to detail and the ability to make quick decisions. You will be required to work in a variety of settings, including cells, living areas, and administrative offices. You will also be required to wear a uniform and follow strict safety protocols.
