Fire System Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire System Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls International plc. As a Fire System Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our customers by installing, programming, configuring, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute projects on time and within allocated installation hours, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- Collaborate with the project manager to resolve discrepancies and coordinate installation activities, ensuring seamless execution.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals to ensure accurate installation and commissioning.
- Coordinate installation activities with all trades to optimize installation time, ensuring efficient project execution.
- Attend all required site meetings, maintaining open communication with customers and stakeholders.
- Instruct and train customers on the functional operation of the equipment/system, providing excellent customer service and support.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills, consistently communicating with district staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Complete project documentation in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Adhere to all OSHA and JCI safety policies and procedures, participating in scheduled On-call rotations to ensure 24/7 support.
- Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Nurse Call, and Paging systems
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
- Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices
- Experience installing conduit and wire and fire alarm devices
- Able to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and local codes
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to meet customer requirements
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service
- Ability to lead and work well with team members
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly
- Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
- Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test
- Ability to overnight travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Level II certification
- Local State licenses
- Knowledge of local Fire Codes
- FASA/BASA
Compensation and Benefits:
Estimated salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
