Job Overview

Forrest General Hospital seeks an experienced and skilled Patient Care Supervisor Lead to oversee the coordination and direction of nursing activities. This key leadership role requires a strong understanding of clinical operations and the ability to empower staff members to deliver exceptional patient care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of clinical care, including staffing, patient care duties, and maintaining confidentiality and dignity of patients. They will also be expected to communicate effectively with care providers, team members, patients, families, and visitors in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the performance of assigned staff members and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Resolve daily problems and patient care concerns independently, while maintaining open communication with the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to make decisions regarding patient care and provide coaching as needed.
  • Perform staffing and patient care duties when required, ensuring a safe nurse-to-patient ratio at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including staffing assignments and oncoming shift reports.
  • Communicate policy or procedure changes to staff members and ensure implementation of necessary updates.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A minimum of two to five years of general nursing experience, preferably with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • A graduate degree from a recognized non-online RN program, with an Associate Degree in nursing as a minimum requirement.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of MS.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of employment.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment.
  • Certification in NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of employment.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $ 85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
