We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Prisma Health. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and service.

About the Role

This is a non-management position that reports to a supervisor or manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and interviewing patients, collecting demographic and financial data, verifying insurance, and performing various business office functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to collect and verify demographic and financial data, ensuring accurate information is entered into the computer database.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, documenting all information obtained through verification in the system.
  • Obtain necessary signatures and other information on appropriate forms and documents.
  • Receive payments and issue receipts, actively working towards collection goals.
  • Prepare and distribute various reports, documents, and patient identification items as required.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years' experience in Admissions, Billing, Collections, Insurance, and/or Customer Service.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, and proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Database, and Data Entry.
