Position Overview:
Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologists are offered a competitive starting salary of $79,000, while Speech Language Pathologists begin at $74,000. All starting salaries include a $5,000 Liberty County Stipend, with an additional $5,000 Bilingual Stipend for Bilingual SLPs. This role allows for two remote workdays each week.

Key Responsibilities:
Therapeutic Services:
Plan and deliver speech-language pathology services to students experiencing speech, voice, or language challenges. Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide or coordinate therapeutic interventions aimed at alleviating issues that hinder students' educational progress.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Texas license as a speech-language pathologist issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient in utilizing standardized assessments for communication disorders.
- Understanding of the evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation processes for speech-language disorders.
- Strong ability to manage student behavior and foster a conducive learning environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a public school setting.

Major Duties:
  • Conduct independent evaluations to assess students with communication disorders and provide tailored individual and group therapy in alignment with Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Develop clinical management strategies and diagnostic statements.
  • Engage in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee processes, assisting in the interpretation of assessment data and goal setting for students with communication challenges.

Consultation:
  • Collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents to achieve therapy goals and address student needs.
  • Work alongside classroom teachers to design and implement activities that enhance students' communication skills.
  • Provide professional development to school staff to improve their effectiveness in supporting students with communication deficits.

Program Management:
  • Oversee the ongoing evaluation of speech-language pathology services and implement necessary adjustments based on findings.
  • Participate in the selection of appropriate equipment and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as district policies.

Additional Responsibilities:
Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
May oversee the work of speech-language pathology assistants or aides.

Physical and Mental Demands:
- Frequent sitting, walking, and light lifting (under 15 pounds); occasional heavier lifting (up to 45 pounds) may be required.
- Exposure to biological hazards and communicable diseases; may involve district-wide travel.
- Maintain emotional control under pressure and work with frequent interruptions.

Compensation:
Salary range of $74,000 to $90,000 per year, with benefits including continuing education credits, dental and health insurance, flexible scheduling, paid time off, and vision insurance.
