Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at International Leadership of Texas. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing speech and language services to students with communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent evaluations to assess students with speech or language disorders and conditions
  • Develop and implement individual and group therapy plans to improve students' communication skills
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom activities to improve students' communication skills
  • Provide professional development to school personnel to help them identify and work with students with communication deficits
  • Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of speech-language pathology services and make changes based on the findings
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas license as a speech-language pathologist granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Speech-Language Pathologists (TDLR)
  • Ability to use accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders and conditions
  • Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and conditions
  • Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
Working Conditions:

This role includes 2 remote days weekly and requires frequent sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. The position also requires controlling behavior through physical restraint and assisting non-ambulatory students.

Exposure to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases may be present in this role. Districtwide travel may also be required.
