Position Summary

Overview: Assists in the preparation and cooking of various food items, gaining skills necessary to become a qualified cook. Ensures adherence to food safety and sanitation standards in kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn to interpret menus to determine food needs and order supplies accordingly.
  • Prepare and cook food following company recipes and production records.
  • Adjust cooking equipment settings to maintain appropriate temperatures.
  • Assist in measuring and mixing ingredients using various kitchen tools.
  • Cook a variety of foods under supervision, adding seasonings as instructed.
  • Test food for doneness through tasting and visual inspection.
  • Portion and present food on serving plates, adding garnishes as needed.
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, and cutting.
  • Assist in butchering meats and seafood as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
  • Engage with customers and colleagues in a friendly and efficient manner.
