About the Role:
Position Title:
System Administrator

Overview:
This position is essential for addressing security tickets and resolving security-related issues and vulnerabilities.

The volume and frequency of security tickets have surged significantly due to recent policy updates and the rigorous enforcement of these policies by the LESASEC team.

This has resulted in a considerable increase in workload for the systems administrators, who are now dedicating the majority of their time to managing these security tickets, which has hindered their ability to address other system administration tasks and project responsibilities.


Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of engineering experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field/work experience

Operating Systems:
Linux, Windows

Ticketing Systems:
Jira

Experience in resolving security issues and vulnerabilities across Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X operating systems (CVE, security vulnerability notifications, etc.)

Preferred Skills:
Experience in telecommunications and/or Charter
Knowledge and experience in Operating Systems, Virtualization, Storage, and related technologies.

Experience in creating engineering documentation packages such as Engineering Design Documents, Data Flow Diagrams, Call Flow Diagrams, Implementation Guides, Operations Guides, Maintenance Guides, Methods of Procedure, Technical Bulletins, Test Plans, and Test Results.

Familiarity with server hardware (Cisco UCS preferred)
Knowledge of Kubernetes and container management
Relevant industry and vendor certifications and training preferred (Red Hat, Microsoft, Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc)

Soft Skills:
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to communicate effectively with managers, employees, customers, and vendors in a clear and professional manner
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly learn new technologies
Proficient in using personal computers and software applications
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
Strong organizational and prioritization skills

Responsibilities:
Oversee and maintain lab computing and storage hardware, including servers and storage appliances
Manage and maintain the lab virtualization environment (VMware/KVM), including virtual storage (SAN or VSAN)
Oversee both virtual and physical systems in the wireless lab, including Windows and Linux systems
Investigate and resolve security issues and vulnerabilities in lab systems, documenting resolutions and findings.
Consistently support efforts to enhance the customer experience.
Design, implement, monitor, enhance, and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas.
Interpret business requirements and design detailed architectures based on those requirements.
Research, design, and document complex systems and related technologies to support the wireless engineering lab.
Produce necessary technical documentation and review and improve existing documentation and designs.

Establish the integrity, viability, functionality, and capacity of wireless lab system architectures by writing and executing detailed test plans and documenting test results.

Test and certify wireless lab systems and related technologies for features, compatibility, interoperability, functionality, and capacity.
Evaluate vendors, products, and solutions impartially to make informed recommendations, fully documenting findings.
Provide technical support and guidance to wireless lab personnel, ensuring adherence to technical standards and documentation requirements.
Collaborate with members of cross-functional teams to manage tasks.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Comply with industry-specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
Understand and follow company policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Salary Range:
The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually.

Factors that may influence compensation within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
