Admissions Specialist - Substance Use Disorders

At Harmony Recovery, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Admissions Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our admissions team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that individuals and families receive the highest level of care and support in their journey towards recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist families and potential clients in gaining access to appropriate levels of care
  • Accurately and efficiently complete telephone inquiry calls in Salesforce
  • Timely complete client screening assessments, coordinating assessment of insurance benefits eligibility as needed
  • Enter critical data into electronic medical records prior to admission, obtaining any necessary mental health and medical records
  • Follow-up with internal stakeholders to determine therapeutic, medical, and financial appropriateness of admission
  • Re-engage with initial inquiries to establish relationships and connect callers to appropriate resources
  • Introduce prospective clients and families to the Harmony experience through tours and staff connections
  • Schedule admissions, complete required paperwork, and obtain necessary signatures
  • Participate in and promote a positive, supportive, and cooperative team environment
  • Support Business Development efforts by accurately reporting referral source
  • Collaborate with Nursing team members to ensure client safety during the admissions process
  • Adhere to confidentiality laws, including 42CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and HITECH, as well as all Harmony policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • CAT certification or NADAAC equivalent is preferred
  • Six months of previous work experience in the substance use disorder field is preferred
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Familiarity with mental health services and basic medical insurance concepts is advantageous
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record if driving a Harmony vehicle or driving for Harmony business

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to relate with detachment and empathy to clients and families
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products in a Windows environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats
  • Skilled in effectively building rapport through telephone and email
  • Basic knowledge of treatment modalities
  • Initiative to learn program enhancements and new approaches to treatment
  • Personal maturity reflected by sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Skilled in managing volumes of detailed information
  • Proficient in thoroughly collecting and accurately entering data
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity issues
  • Authentic commitment to Harmony's mission and vision, actively working to further organizational objectives
