Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer

At Raytheon, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of software development and operations.

Job Summary:

The Senior Platform Engineer will be responsible for empowering development teams with a robust platform that streamlines processes, enhances collaboration, and accelerates release cycles. This will involve designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and Rancher.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement development and mission solutions in collaboration with software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams.
  • Integrate security and compliance into the platform with services such as encryption and access management.
  • Provide operational support for the platform and troubleshoot applications and infrastructure services on Linux-based OS.
  • Leverage company and industry best practices to improve scalability, consistency, infrastructure efficiency, reduce deployment time, and automate configuration management.
Requirements:
  • BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Physics.
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CICD Pipelines tools.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices such as OWASP, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with Networking Concepts and architectures.
  • Experience with scanning tools.
  • Experience developing, testing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework.
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, Bash, Perl, Ruby, and C++.
  • Current DoD 8570 certification (CompTIA Security +, CCNA) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
