MaineHealth, a not-for-profit integrated health system, seeks a highly skilled Psychiatric Care Specialist to join our inpatient Behavioral Health Unit in Sanford. This 40-bed, locked unit provides a 24-hour treatment program designed for adults experiencing acute psychiatric crisis.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree with advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, as well as additional medical training or completion of a board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. A current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is also required.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with mental health professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT.

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a Total Rewards package that includes comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide initial psychiatric evaluations, follow-up visits, history, and medication management for hospitalized patients.
  • Develop and record individualized treatment plans, incorporating patient-centered care principles.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, psychiatry, social work, and case management.
