Refrigeration Technician Job Description

Dreisbach Enterprises is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our Engineering team. As a key member of this department, our technicians play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and adjust refrigeration systems to meet warehouse requirements
  • Inspect, calibrate, and maintain refrigeration system safeguards per manufacturer specifications
  • Complete and evaluate daily logs for temperature, pressure, and system operation
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in refrigeration equipment areas
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues on refrigeration equipment
  • Maintain water treatment systems and chemical controls for evaporative condensers per manufacturer specifications
  • Measure oil, water, and glycol samples according to operating guidelines
  • Monitor contractors working on or near refrigeration systems
  • Utilize onsite motorized lifts and equipment as needed

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience with ammonia refrigeration
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings
  • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience/training
  • Successful completion of Refrigeration Operator 1 course (CARO) or equivalent
  • RETA certification is highly preferred
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods and lift/move heavy objects
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen
