UPMC Lab Services is a leading healthcare provider that offers a wide range of medical services, including laboratory testing and pathology services. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Pathologists' Assistant to join our team.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, UPMC also offers a generous sign-on bonus of up to $8,000 for Pathologists' Assistants and $20,000 for Sr. Pathologists' Assistants for those who qualify.

Job Description
  • Provide independent technical leadership, consulting with the Manager or Supervisor on unusual and complex cases.
  • Perform duties according to the policies and procedures of the Pathology Department and Hospital.
  • Remain abreast of policies, regulations, guidelines, techniques, procedures, and methodologies in anatomic and autopsy pathology.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in pathologist's assistant training program or Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or Medical Technology or a related field.
  • 5 years clinical experience in Anatomic or Clinical Pathology for a Pathologists' Assistant or 6 years of clinical experience in Anatomic or Clinical Pathology for a Sr. Pathologists' Assistant.
  • Strong analytical and technical ability to independently evaluate patient specimens and clinical data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to orient and train staff and provide educational experiences to team members.
