Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Research Specialist to join our team at the University of Pittsburgh. As a member of our research laboratory, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to mammalian specimen imaging, including operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing samples, and analyzing results.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biology or a related field, with experience in laboratory settings. Prior knowledge of MRI, CT, PET, SPECT, ultrasound, or IVIS is a plus. If you are detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently, we encourage you to apply.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform mammalian specimen imaging using MRI, CT, PET, SPECT, ultrasound, or IVIS.
  2. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including MRI, CT, PET, SPECT, ultrasound, or IVIS scanners.
  3. Prepare samples for imaging, including anesthesia, injection, and tissue harvesting.
  4. Analyze imaging data and prepare reports.
  5. Maintain accurate records and logs of experiments and results.

Requirements:
  • • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
    • 0-2 years of experience in laboratory settings.
    • Prior knowledge of MRI, CT, PET, SPECT, ultrasound, or IVIS is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
