Job Summary:

At Newport Healthcare, we are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to children, adolescents, and their families. Your expertise will be instrumental in evaluating and managing clients, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage clients through direct care encounters, including prescription and management of medication, order and interpretation of labs, and education to clients and families.
• Update treatment plans weekly and ensure timely completion of documentation according to established standards.
• Collaborate with Psychiatrists regarding shared cases and treatment teams, and provide cross-coverage to Psychiatry team cases as needed.
• Assist with patient admissions, including initial evaluations and initial assessment documentation, and provide collateral/liaison contact to patient families and outpatient providers.
• Complete discharge recommendation assessments as part of collaborative discharge summaries and maintain requirements of Physician Collaborative Agreements.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and licensed in the state in which you are applying.
• Current DEA license and minimum two years' experience working with adolescents.
