Position Summary:

The HR Generalist will report directly to the HR Manager and will be accountable for a comprehensive range of HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, workers' compensation, employee recognition, offboarding, personnel file management, and HRIS system oversight. The HR Generalist will collaborate with the HR Manager on specific departmental projects as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with plant managers and supervisors to determine recruitment needs.
  • Manage the posting, sourcing, interviewing, and offer extension processes for qualified candidates.
  • Facilitate an engaging onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Oversee benefits administration, assisting employees with enrollment in benefit plans and ensuring accuracy in all processes.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries regarding their employment.
  • Conduct investigations in response to formal complaints.
  • Partner with plant management to proactively prepare for business changes.
  • Plan and implement employee appreciation initiatives.
  • Coordinate HR programs, including disability, workers' compensation, and FMLA claim management.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including annual and ninety-day evaluations.
  • Manage the HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now) to reflect personnel changes accurately.
  • Complete employment verifications and respond to unemployment requests.
  • Submit initial injury reports for workers' compensation and manage the claims process to ensure timely resolution.
  • Engage in various projects that support HR policies and strategic objectives.
Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook). Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. The candidate must be a collaborative team player with exceptional time management skills and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment. A high degree of integrity, ethics, and discretion in handling confidential information is crucial.
