About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Authorization Specialist to join our team at Jeter Therapy Group. As an Authorization Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that medical procedures are properly authorized and documented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify Insurance Coverage: Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorization for medical procedures and treatments.
  • Review Medical Records: Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assign Medical Codes: Assign appropriate medical codes for billing and reimbursement purposes.
  • Communicate with Healthcare Providers: Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve authorization issues.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with Medical Office Staff: Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of authorizations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a dental or medical office.
  • Insurance Verification: Proficient in insurance verification processes and procedures.
  • Coding Knowledge: Knowledge of ICD-9 coding system and medical terminology.
  • Managed Care Plans: Familiarity with managed care plans and authorization requirements.
  • Medical Coding and Billing: Experience with medical coding and billing practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record keeping.
Preferred Skills
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software applications.
  • HIPAA Knowledge: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
What We Offer
  • Full-time Position: This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Salary: $16.00 per hour.

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday.
