Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Authorization Specialist to join our team at Jeter Therapy Group. As an Authorization Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that medical procedures are properly authorized and documented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorization for medical procedures and treatments
  • Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assign appropriate medical codes for billing and reimbursement purposes
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve authorization issues
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of authorizations
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a dental or medical office
  • Proficient in insurance verification processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 coding system and medical terminology
  • Familiarity with managed care plans and authorization requirements
  • Experience with medical coding and billing practices
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record keeping

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software applications
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
About the Role
