About the Position:

The State of Idaho is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Professional Development Coordinator to join our team. This role will play a critical part in coordinating the mentorship and professional development for new career technical education teachers in Idaho.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage logistics for in-person, virtual, and hybrid workshops, webinars, and conferences to support professional development.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new teachers, focusing on classroom management, CTSO advising, program management, and professional teaching.
  • Design and deliver training materials, toolkits, and resources to support professional development programs.
  • Use project management tools to ensure all new teachers are monitored and on task to apply for their standard teaching certification.
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders to identify and address professional development needs.
  • Prepare and present reports on new teacher training to internal and external audiences.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in project management, event planning, and education program coordination.
  • Professional experience in teacher education and/or training.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with state and federal CTE initiatives and trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience/credentials.
  • CTE teacher certificate or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience mentoring secondary and/or postsecondary teachers.
  • Experience in developing and presenting professional development training.
