Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Staff Engineer, Software to join our Capital Projects team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical engineering support services and mid-level professional engineering design, review, and construction management functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced-level technical engineering support services and mid-level professional engineering design, review, and construction management functions.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, other departments, outside agencies, consultants, contractors, and citizens.
  • Provide highly responsible engineering support to City departments.
  • Assist in designing and managing complex capital projects.
  • Manage basic transportation, surface water, wastewater, and facilities projects independently and/or under direction of assigned staff.
Requirements
  • Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
  • One to three years of experience designing, supporting, or managing infrastructure projects in transportation, surface water, wastewater, or facilities.
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, planning, or construction management.
  • Valid registration as an Engineer-In-Training Certification in the State of Washington or ability to obtain registration in Washington State within 6 months after the date of hire.
Working Conditions

The position requires occasional attendance of evening or weekend meetings. The City of Shoreline application must be completed (including education & employment history). I acknowledge that if my application is incomplete, the City of Shoreline may not consider me for this position.

The City has implemented a remote work policy that will allow staff to work up to three remote days a week. Full-time remote work is not an option.

All benefit allocations are pro-rated for part-time regular staff. Each full-time regular employee receives Tier I allotment per month to buy benefits for themselves and family members, including domestic partners.

Coverage includes Regence, Kaiser, Delta Dental, Willamette Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts for medical and/or childcare costs, Employee Assistance Program, and Supplemental Life Insurance.

Eleven holidays are observed along with two personal days are provided each year.
