Job Description

The Industrial Hygiene Specialist will serve as a key resource for environmental remediation operations, providing technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide industrial hygiene and safety technical guidance to operations on environmental remediation problems and issues.
  • Conduct investigations to determine the extent of contamination and ensure work is in accordance with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise industrial hygiene processes and programs to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply the hierarchy of controls to eliminate or mitigate hazards while ensuring mission success.
  • Monitor and review the industrial hygiene and safety performance of subcontractors to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physiology, etc.) combined with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced experience in industrial hygiene, including sampling and analysis methods, personal exposure monitoring, safety program development, and related recordkeeping.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey industrial hygiene information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and presenting industrial hygiene and safety protection reports.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience in the identification, application, and interpretation of federal codes, standards, and regulations in industrial hygiene program areas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
  • Advanced experience conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting worker health and safety.
Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with occasional travel to project sites. The ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards is required. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items.
