Our Championship 27-hole Golf Course invites members to enjoy our beautifully maintained fairways and challenging greens.

Reports to: Head Golf Professional

Qualifications and Skills:

To excel as a member of the Golf Professional Staff, the Golf Shop Merchandise Supervisor should possess the following:

  • Retail sales experience with a solid understanding of golf.
  • Professional demeanor and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Familiarity with golf merchandise, procurement processes, and industry trends.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Marketing acumen and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 35 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

The Golf Shop Merchandise Supervisor will undertake the following tasks:

  • Welcome and engage with members and guests upon entering the golf shop, striving to learn their names and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Golf and Tennis shops, creating appealing merchandise displays.
  • Work according to the seasonal schedule of the golf course, including weekends and holidays.
  • Adhere to club policies and procedures while ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Respond to phone inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Address and resolve member and guest concerns with professionalism and foresight.
  • Prepare clear and concise written reports and communications.
  • Manage member and vendor records, follow up on tasks, and demonstrate effective time management.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by encouraging team involvement in decision-making.
  • Work independently while being receptive to feedback.
  • Balance the daily operational needs with the overall objectives of the golf operation.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to enhance service quality.
  • Support colleagues and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with members and guests, demonstrating sensitivity to their needs.

Specific Duties:

As the Golf Shop Merchandise Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all merchandise is accurately priced and displayed daily.
  • Facilitating timely processing of merchandise check requests.
  • Overseeing the purchasing process for all merchandise, managing orders from initiation to invoicing.
  • Utilizing inventory management systems for tracking and receiving items.
  • Coordinating corporate orders and ensuring proper invoicing.
  • Maintaining organized purchase order and vendor files.
  • Utilizing customer files for effective marketing strategies.
  • Implementing creative marketing initiatives through various channels.
  • Updating inventory management software for accurate stock levels.
  • Managing merchandise for golf outings as directed by the Head Golf Professional.
  • Following established standard operating procedures consistently.
  • Promoting goodwill and hospitality among all members and guests.
  • Assisting in maintaining a tidy and presentable golf shop environment.
  • Overseeing the entry of new stock into the inventory system.
  • Ensuring the storeroom is organized and clean.
