Director of Environmental Health and Safety Leadership

ATSU is a leading institution in the field of health sciences, dedicated to providing high-quality education and training to its students. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Environmental Health and Safety Leadership.
As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive environmental health and safety programs across our campuses. This will include developing and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to promote a culture of safety and sustainability.
- Provide training and education on environmental health and safety topics to ensure employees are equipped to perform their jobs safely.
- Develop and maintain records of accidents, injuries, and near-misses, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Work closely with the facilities department to ensure that all university facilities and equipment are maintained in a safe and functional condition.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to ensure a swift and effective response to emergencies.
- Maintain open communication with faculty, staff, and students to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged in environmental health and safety initiatives.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental health, safety, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in environmental health and safety, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Salary:
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and education, with an estimated annual salary of $120,000.
