Job Title: Mortgage Loan Processor

Reports to: Retail Lending Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Grade: NE12

Supervisory Responsibility: No

SUMMARY:

The primary role of the Mortgage Loan Processor is to oversee the administrative and clerical aspects of the residential lending process. This includes managing the loan workflow and gathering necessary documentation as required by underwriting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor and/or Trustco Bank's Board of Directors.
  • Confirm all information in the Encompass database against original documents for precision.
  • Conduct initial assessments of credit reports.
  • Facilitate property appraisals and ensure timely delivery to clients.
  • Request flood determinations.
  • Prepare and distribute Loan Estimates, Settlement Service Provider's, and Home Counseling Providers documentation.
  • Monitor the receipt of 3-day disclosures.
  • Execute Mavent Compliance Testing.
  • Perform preliminary and final evaluations of loan documentation.
  • Dispatch customer communications.
  • Maintain daily pipeline and provide assistance to all branch staff and clients.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs; particularly Excel and Word.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • An Associate's degree or higher in a business-related field.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS:

This is a full-time position. Office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays. Evening and weekend work may be necessary as job responsibilities dictate.

TRAVEL:

Travel using a personal vehicle may be required, including occasional overnight travel. A valid driver's license is necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the primary language(s) used in the workplace; bilingual skills are advantageous. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, including but not limited to company policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers and clients.
