Position Overview

SAIC is in search of a seasoned Software Product Strategist to collaborate with the Chief of Product and Senior Program Manager in identifying user requirements, overseeing their implementation, and delivering advanced Space Command and Control software solutions. Your expertise will be vital in transforming mission objectives into effectively executed software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in technical planning, define high-level and detailed requirements, and provide integration and support for software systems and subsystems.
  • Offer strategic guidance to the Program Manager and Senior Space Force Leadership regarding execution strategies.
  • Assist in managing various software systems, including lifecycle cost analysis and decision-making processes.
  • Oversee and integrate activities in alignment with contract stipulations, ensuring technical, schedule, cost, and financial performance are met.
  • Establish or contribute to the program baseline and ensure compliance with baseline requirements during execution.
  • Articulate and advocate for user needs, creating a cohesive vision for products and aligning stakeholders around this vision.
  • Assist in prioritizing product features and capabilities, identifying execution challenges, and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare presentation materials, status updates, and strategic communication tools to support the government customer in achieving successful program outcomes.
  • Develop milestone and initiative concepts, recommending them to the user community in line with the product vision.
  • Assign milestone and initiative tasks to maintain user perspective throughout testing and deployment phases.
  • Facilitate interactions between developers and users to ensure a user-centered design approach.
  • Communicate user needs at events and ceremonies.
  • Support the prioritization of Agile backlogs.

Qualifications:

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9 years of relevant experience in acquisitions, including project and budget oversight; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Possession of an active Top Secret clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Program access, along with a willingness to undergo a polygraph examination.
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of functional and division acquisition offices to achieve project goals.
  • Experience in engaging with users to ascertain software requirements.
  • Proficient in JIRA and Confluence software development tools.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design methodologies.
  • Comfortable presenting to large audiences and senior executives regarding product vision and software requirements.

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Development of best practices for understanding user needs, analyzing system capabilities to resolve program-related issues, and preparing operational documentation.
  • Knowledge of software change and configuration management policies, implementing changes within development pipelines.
  • Management of system configurations and monitoring changes to enhance system capabilities and enforce policy compliance.
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software while adhering to secure coding practices.
  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Online Services, and Active Directory.
  • Experience in leading Agile development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, and/or smart sheets.
  • Certifications in Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) such as AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Salesforce, or Adobe Cloud are a plus.

Compensation: Target salary range is between $160,001 and $200,000, reflecting the typical salary range for this role based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not mandate COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters; however, customer site vaccination requirements must be adhered to when working at a customer site.
