Logistics Coordinator Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of goods and materials within the supply chain. This position requires a high degree of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to coordinate shipments, manage inventory, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supply Chain Management: Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery and shipment of goods to customers or warehouses.
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory levels to ensure products are available when needed, and oversee product storage and distribution to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Logistics Operations: Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers to ensure smooth logistics operations, and develop and maintain relationships with vendors and carriers to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and other relevant paperwork, and ensure compliance with local, national, and international shipping regulations.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve logistics and transportation issues, such as shipment delays, product damage, or lost inventory, and implement solutions to minimize delivery time and cost while maximizing efficiency.
Requirements:
  • 2-3+ Years of Proven experience as a logistics coordinator, fleet manager, dispatcher, or other transportation-related experience.
  • Proficiency in logistics software (such as ERP or WMS systems).
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and shipping regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
