Job Overview

The Emergency Room Technician/Paramedic is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, report, and document clinical data, including vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and collect specimens.
  • Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse/designee as indicated by the patient's plan of care.
  • Provide for superficial wound care and maintain patient safety related to age and condition.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
  • Provide and maintain a clean, safe environment and perform and/or assist others to perform proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required and completion of one of the following: Medical Corpsman program and one year of applicable experience, EMT-P (Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic), AEMT (Advanced-EMT), Licensed Paramedic (LP) course/program and one year of applicable experience, EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic) and 1+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician or hospital equivalent experience, or completion of the first year of education and current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing and one year of applicable experience.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, required.
  • Current ACLS/ALS certifications through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, required in all markets with the exception of Pennsylvania (strongly preferred) and Wisconsin (only required for EMT-P).
