Job Overview:

The Television Post-Production Specialist is tasked with transforming raw footage into a polished broadcast-ready product. This role encompasses the integration of visual elements, sound, dialogue, and effects, ensuring a seamless viewing experience. The specialist's expertise is vital in the post-production phase, directly influencing the overall quality and presentation of the final output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit video segments, audio components, and various media assets to craft compelling and cohesive narratives.
  • Ensure the completed product adheres to the company's established quality standards.
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and team members to grasp project goals and artistic direction.
  • Identify and rectify any discrepancies in the final edit, including continuity issues and audio-visual mismatches.
  • Select optimal scenes that enhance storytelling, drama, and continuity from initial cuts to the final version.
  • Engage in screenings of edited content, providing feedback and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Create promotional materials, teasers, and trailers for upcoming shows prior to their air dates.
  • Conduct color grading, sound editing, and apply special effects as needed.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional editing experience in a recognized media production setting.
  • Proficiency in non-linear editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve).
  • Experience in color grading and motion graphics.
  • Understanding of audio editing fundamentals.
  • Strong grasp of editing techniques and narrative storytelling.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a discerning eye for visual aesthetics.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in a dynamic production atmosphere.
  • Capability to accept constructive criticism and implement changes effectively.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for media production.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related discipline.
