Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Northern Biomedical Research Inc. This role involves advanced sample analysis, microbiological procedures, and equipment upkeep, with a strong focus on precision, analytical thinking, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing sample suitability and processing various biological specimens, including blood and urine.
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory analyzers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance and alerting veterinary personnel of significant clinical findings.
  • Documenting results in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Reviewing research protocols and ensuring adherence to GLP standards.
  • Preparing study documentation and managing sample logistics.
  • Performing instrument qualifications and generating quality control data.
  • Conducting basic microbiological testing and providing scientific support to Study Directors.
  • Training and mentoring Clinical Pathology Technicians.

This is a salaried position with no supervisory duties. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, along with ASCP or AMT certification preferred, and at least two years of experience in a medical laboratory setting.

Strong communication skills and familiarity with GLP regulations are crucial for success in this role. The position involves working in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to infectious materials and chemicals, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment.

Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and have the flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
