Job Description:

Process Engineer Overview:
Position Summary: This role is pivotal in managing specialized projects, product introductions, and providing engineering support to enhance manufacturing operations. The incumbent will plan and execute technical initiatives for both new and existing products to ensure effective implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Apply engineering principles to diagnose and enhance shop floor activities, aiming to optimize throughput and minimize costs.
2. Collaborate with Divisional Engineering on new projects concerning PPAP and process-related matters.
3. Proactively communicate potential challenges to the Engineering Manager for collaborative resolution.

4. Develop job specifications for new projects and relay this information to the New Job Specification Coordinator for integration into the Electronic Specification System.

5. Coordinate and conduct initial trial runs on new processes and equipment, documenting and tracking issues for resolution.
6. Initiate enhancements to current systems, machinery, and equipment to bolster manufacturing functions and operations.

7. Construct bills of materials, process flows, and conduct process failure mode effective analysis (PFMEA).
8. Estimate production timelines, staffing needs, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
9. Engage in customer visits for product-related involvement.

10. Work alongside plant engineers, industrial engineers, quality managers, and plant chemists on job-related tasks.
11. Stay updated on technological advancements, recommending and justifying the adoption of equipment and processes that yield cost reductions.
12. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving projects.
13. Analyze data statistically from test runs and provide recommendations based on findings.
14. Collaborate with laboratory personnel to conduct material and product testing and evaluations.

15. Partner closely with shift supervisors and department managers to ensure quality operations of materials and equipment during new job start-ups.

16. Provide support to the plant Engineering Manager on designated projects.
17. May occasionally be required to undertake responsibilities beyond those outlined in this description.

Education and Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required, along with two years of project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to focus and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience with PLC and/or robotic programming is advantageous.
Familiarity with SolidWorks software is a plus.
Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.

Work Environment/Conditions:
Work will primarily occur in a standard office setting with exposure to manufacturing environments.

Proper personal protective equipment must be worn while on the manufacturing floor. Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations may be required.
