Overview

SAIC is seeking a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer to become a vital part of our Army UAS Training Test team.

This diverse team engages in a broad spectrum of testing activities, encompassing both physical and virtual network systems, software applications, and UAS control interfaces. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy working on intricate systems, as it involves interaction with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking frameworks, and multiple UAS platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and implementing test strategies, test scenarios, and testing protocols to guarantee that all information systems products and services align with organizational standards and user expectations. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating comprehensive test plans, schedules, and methodologies.
  • Drafting test cases and scripts while identifying necessary data for testing scenarios.
  • Conducting walkthroughs of test cases/scripts with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads.
  • Executing and leading tests of software and/or IT systems to ensure optimal performance and defect-free operation.
  • Performing verification activities on deliverables using established methods, procedures, and criteria within a suitable verification environment.
  • Documenting and communicating test outcomes effectively.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with three (3) years of relevant experience. A combination of four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Security Clearance:

  • Must possess an active Interim Secret Security Clearance and be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Essential Skills:

  • Over five (5) years of experience in software systems testing, software development, or software integration.
  • Proven experience in testing a variety of applications.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with the software development team to assist in defining acceptance criteria and reviewing test cases.
  • Experience in a software development setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
  • Experience in developing, executing, and reviewing automated testing processes.
  • Experience with operating objective UAS systems (e.g., Gray Eagle and/or Shadow) and their associated training systems.
  • Knowledge of MS Azure.

Citizenship Requirement:

This position requires U.S. citizenship.
