Job Title: Lead Quality Engineer

SimTech, Inc. is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team in Huntsville, AL. This is an immediate opening with opportunities for growth and professional development in support of the PM Mounted Armored Vehicle Bradley Fighting Vehicle platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) process sampling systems, procedures, and production methods.
  • Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Analyzes production processes and procedures. Monitors manufacturing process, inspection, test and shipping activities.
  • Recommends revision of specifications. Formulates QA policies and procedures and conducts training on QA concepts and tools.
  • Interfaces with PM, Logistics, Engineering, and Suppliers on quality-related issues.
  • Reviews contract data item descriptions and requirements, establishing the necessary controls to ensure compliance.
  • Creates control plans that align to customer, product, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Establish corrective actions, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams, when an item does not satisfy the requirement.
  • Assists in the inspection and testing of equipment and certifications to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements prior to submittal to Government customer.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution or relative experience in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated relevant experience required.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, and government standards) and Certifications.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience, conducting or managing internal audits.
  • Experience with warehouse and manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and non-destructive inspection techniques.
  • Strong passion and relentless drive for achieving results in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance preferred. Ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required.
