POSITION SUMMARY

This is an entry-level managerial role focused on facilitating the daily operations of Rooms Management, encompassing areas such as Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services. The position plays a crucial role in collaborating with team members to execute guest arrival and departure processes while upholding the property’s cleanliness standards. The aim is to enhance both guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operational budget.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional field.
OR
  • 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline; 1 year of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting in Rooms Operations Management
  • Manages the opening and closing of Front Desk shifts and Housekeeping, ensuring the completion of assigned shift checklists and other responsibilities.
  • Analyzes and reviews essential information contained in room operations reports.
  • Comprehends the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge/Guest Services operations.
  • Operates all departmental equipment as required and reports any malfunctions.
  • Ensures team members have the necessary supplies and uniforms.
  • Understands night audit procedures and can interpret and utilize reports as needed.
  • Adheres to loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Communicates performance expectations to employees in alignment with job descriptions for each role.
  • Addresses employee inquiries and concerns.
  • Effectively schedules staff according to business needs and monitors employee time and attendance.
Contributing to Budget Management
  • Supervises same-day selling strategies to optimize room revenue and property occupancy.
  • Verifies the accuracy of room rates to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Utilizes budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to assist in managing Room Operations.
  • Participates in managing departmental controllable expenses to meet or exceed budgetary goals.
  • Understands the impact of Room Operations on the overall financial objectives of the property.
Enhancing the Guest Experience
  • Assists in investigating employee and guest incidents.
  • Utilizes a guest information tracking system to ensure a successful repeat guest recognition program that acknowledges guest preferences.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Engages with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels; effectively addresses and resolves guest issues, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
  • Assists in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with team members.
The hourly pay range for this position is $22.60 to $26.92.
