Job Title:
Linux/Cloud Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

RSekure is seeking a skilled Linux/Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for providing database tuning, integration, operations, and maintenance support to our clients' evolving Linux/AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with clients regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
  • Analyze customer requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements and specifications.
  • Travel not required.

Requirements:

  • Engineering experience with managing Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in lockdown, automating lockdown, and documenting security configuration.
  • Proficiency with software provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment tool enabling infrastructure as code using Ansible or a tool like Puppet, Chef, or Salt.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, etc.
  • Experience with configuration of VMware and vSphere, deployment of virtual machine instances.
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise testing and lab environments, active directory, PKI infrastructure.
  • Apt problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a cloud engineering role or related positions.

Desired Certifications and Licenses:

  • Any certification with cloud platforms such as Amazon, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Other relevant cyber certifications (CompTIA Sec+, Net+, etc.) are a bonus.

Special Requirements:

  • TS/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph.

Work Environment:

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer-related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment-related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands:

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting.
